We had to postpone this session a few times because the weather was playing tricks on us. It was not suppose to rain that day and then it started. Or it seriously looked like rain but it did not in the end. And because the traffic is always a factor in Moscow it was not easy to plan. It is not like ok I will be there in 10 minutes or half an hour. Here you never know how long traffic will take. And it had to be on a weekend day…despite all that we were able to make it work.

to have this one hanging big in their living room?

Such a nice memory of Moscow in the summer. It is taken at the lake that is half of the year covered with ice and snow.  To give you a sense of size I show you this image.

It was a nice surprise for P. to get a photo of his children for fathers day. We secretly planned this session before the family session which came up soon after. I joked with the kids that they could not tell dad about it. And if we would meet within a few days, we all should act like we never met before….

Isn’t it fascinating how many different faces and expressions you can capture in just a few moments? I love to make collages like this from these moments.

I was asked to photograph a first communion in Spanish here in Moscow. It occurred to me how united we can be through faith. Although my Spanish is not good I could understand parts of it because it feels familiar. And it gave me goosebumps seeing and hearing people pray the same prayers just different words. Different people from different countries praying together. If this can be done in one church then why is it so hard to do for the whole world? Accept each other for who you are, keep the helicopter view, why focus on the differences why not focus on what unites….anyway… that is what I took from the experience….besides pretty pictures…
